Absu SUG director of Sports, comr Emmanuel Chukwukeruba Smart has finally  installed a Volleyball Court in Absu_Umuahia Campus..

 The Hardworking DOS who has worked tirelessly to equip and promote the sports activities of the the University, installed the Volleyball court in umuahia campus and promising to establish other sports activities in time to come.

 Speaking with satellitegists senior correspondent, he said,  "Before aspiring for Absu SUG director of Sports, I've had plans to develop and reconstruct the sports sector of the University, as football lover and a football player, I will work tirelessly to live a legacy that will push the Sports Directors of the Union who will probably come after me to work hard and see the need of protecting the interest of their followers as leaders"..  

He also gave them trainers beep for both male and female category for Footbal and promise them that onyenso led admin will do more for them

This 11-year-old boy hacks government website in 10 minutes and changes election results

 An 11-year-old boy hacked into a replica website used by the Florida Secretary of State to report election results and changed the election results once he gained access into the site.

11-year-old Emmett Brewster was able to hack it in just 10 minutes. This happened at this year’s DEFCON hacking conference in Las Vegas.

At the conference, Emmett and many other children were offered the chance to hack into a mock-up of a Secretary of State website. According to DEFCON spokespeople, the kids were offered 13 replicas of Secretary of State websites, with Florida being the first. Emmett succeeded in hacking Florida's website in only a few minutes.

Emmett was one of about 50 children between the ages of 8 and 16 who took part in a kid-specific workshop at this year’s hacker conference. According to Quartz, the kids were able to manipulate various things on the websites, including vote counts, candidate names, and party names.

Anambra School Girls Win Gold in World Technovation Challenge in US

They defeated US, CHINA,SPAIN,TURKEY,ETC

The five Anambra girls from Regina Pacies Secondary School Onitsha who represented Nigeria and Africa at the World Technovation Challenge in the Silicon Valley in San Francisco, US last night have won the Gold Medal in the contest.

The team, led by Uchenna Onwuamaegbu Ugwu defeated representatives of other technological giants including the USA, Spain, Turkey, Uzbekistan and China to clinch the gold medal.

The Anambra girls who have now become Africa's Golden Girls is made up of five brilliant girls including

3 Nwabuaku Ossai
4 Adaeze Onuigbo
5 Vivian Okoye

The world champions who are reported to be attracting a lot of attention in the world's greatest technological hub won the Challenge with a mobile application called the FD-Detector which they developed to help tackle the Challenge of fake pharmaceutical products in Nigeria.

Under the tutelage of Uchenna Onwuamaegbu-Ugwu the CEO of Edufun Technik STEM, the Golden Girls spent five months researching and developing FD-Detector which swept through over 2000 competing applications to get to the finals in San Francisco.

Technovation is a programme that offers girls around the world the opportunity to learn the programming skills they need to emerge as tech-entrepreneurs and leaders.

Every year, girls are invited to identify a problem in their communities, and then challenge them to solve them by developing Andriod applications that would address those problems.

115 countries participated in the qualifiers but only 12 teams from all over the world were selected as finalists for the pitch in Silicon Valley.

The girls will also be attending Field trips, life-changing workshops including a networking session during their one week stay in USA.

The Governor of Anambra State,Chief Willie Obiano had personally sent them off to the US in a brief ceremony at the last Executive Council Meeting where he charged the girls to put Nigeria and Africa on the global technological map with their rare talent.

Man City vs Chelsea: Why DSTV will not show Community Shield game

DStv Nigeria have confirmed that they will not show the Community Shield game between Manchester City and Chelsea this Sunday.

According to the cable TV network, they do not have the rights to air the clash which will be played at Wembley Stadium.

When enquiries were made on Twitter about the encounter, which has not been included on their roaster, their response was: “Hi. SuperSport will unfortunately not be broadcasting the Community Shield this weekend, as our bid for broadcast rights was unsuccessful.”

The match is often regarded as the curtain raiser for the English Premier League season.

City boss, Pep Guardiola, will be looking to clinch his third piece of silveware in charge of the Etihad club.

He tweeted, "I thank God once again for escaping another dangerous attack. I also thank Nigerians for their prayers and show of Love. Spent 11 hours in the wilderness traumatized but God preserved me. God is the best and in whom ONLY I trust. They will continue to try. WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!"

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce (Bayelsa East - PDP) raised an alarm on Thursday, July 26, 2018, that Melaye had been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Murray-Bruce took to his Twitter account (benmurraybruce) to disclose that Melaye's brother, Moses Melaye, informed him of the abduction.

He posted, "I have just been informed by Moses Melaye, dino_melaye's brother, that Dino has been abducted by unknown persons in a Toyota Sienna that blocked their car and overpowered them on their way to Kogi to answer to Dino's court case. Let's be on the watch out. Will keep you updated."

However, the lawmaker's media aide, Gideon Ayodele, told Oak TV on Thursday that he escaped the attack by running into the bush, but his whereabout was unknown.

"He (Melaye) was attacked and we believe he escaped into the bush but we're yet to know his whereabout," Ayodele said.

Melaye missed court trial due to 'attack'
Senator Melaye failed to appear for the commencement of his criminal trial at the Senior Magistrate's Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, on Thursday, July 26.

The lawmaker faces charges of criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of prohibited firearms, kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, political thuggery and other violent crimes in Kogi state.

During Thursday's hearing, his legal representative, Yemi Mohammed, told the court that the whereabouts of the lawmaker was unknown after he was attacked on his way to Lokoja on Wednesday, July 25.

He said, "I learnt that he was attacked yesterday (Wednesday) in Gwagwalada on his way to Lokoja to attend his trial and up till now, I have not been able to reach him, I don't know where he is at the moment."

Senior Magistrate, Sulyman Abdullah, was compelled to adjourn the case till August 9, 2018.

After Kabiru Saidu, a.k.a Osama, and Nuhu Salisu, aka Small, were arrested at Ogojueje in Dekina  Local Government Area of Kogi on January 19, 2018, they confessed to the police that Senator Melaye hired them to cause unrest in the state ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The criminal suspects disclosed that the lawmaker handed them a bag containing one AK-47 rifle, two pump action guns and the sum of N430,000 to unleash mayhem in Kogi.

The Senator has always maintained that he's being politically persecuted by state governor, Yahaya Bello, as he faces two other criminal cases.

On Tuesday, July 24, he defected from the ruling All Progressives' Congress (APC) to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) after months of public animousity with the party and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Super Eagles chief coach captured on camera taking bribe to select players

Chief coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Salisu Yusuf has been caught on camera taking N360, 000 from fake football agents who wanted him to select two players for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

DAILY POST reports that as the chief coach of the Super Eagles, Yusuf is in charge of the Super Eagles home-based side and an assistant to Gernot Rohr for the Super Eagles.

He was in charge of the Super Eagles Team B to the 2017 WAFU and 2018 CHAN where they lost in both finals.

According to a video report aired by the BBC, an investigation led by Ghanaian journalists, who posed as football agents for some players approached Yusuf in September 2017 for a conversation about players’ selection.

During the conversation, they handed the Nigerian coach N360, 000 ($1000) and alluded to more cash incentives if he selects their players for CHAN 2018 which held in Morocco.

“So if anything goes through and these players are able to get their contracts, you will get 15% of that contract,” one of the reporters posing as an agent told Yusuf to which he replied; “they will be in CHAN.”

The two players were eventually selected for CHAN 2018 although the investigation stated that there is no suggestion that the money given to Yusuf influenced the selection.

Although he told the reporters that team selection is based solely on performances, Yusuf, a top Nigerian coach will be facing the wrath of FIFA, CAF and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Earlier today, presidential media aide, Femi Adesina, attacked PDP for holding a 7-day mourning period for victims of the massacre that took place in Plateau state over the weekend. Femi in his statement listed the number of mass killings that took place while PDP was in power.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expresses shock by the statement credited to the Buhari Presidency justifying its failure to stem the tide of killings and bloodletting in the country, particularly in the Plateau, Zamfara, Benue, Yobe, Adamawa, Borno, Kogi, Taraba and other troubled states.

It is indeed reprehensible that the Presidency in its usual arrogance and insensitivity to the mood of the nation chose to condemn the PDP for declaring a seven-day mourning and flying our flags at half-mast in honour of the dead and solidarity with the bereaved.

It is disturbing that even in death, the Buhari Presidency still wants to deny these victims of callous murder the honour of being mourned.

We are particularly appalled that instead of joining Nigerians in mourning the dead and seeking ways to stem the escalation of the bloodletting under its watch, the Buhari Presidency is engaged in morbid reference to past killings as if the lives of Nigerians have no value under President Buhari's watch.

The PDP, as a party, will continue to identify with Nigerians at this troubled time irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliations and will therefore not allow itself to be dragged into a needless mire with the Buhari Presidency, which has shown by its statement, that it has no iota of regard for the lives of Nigerians.

PDP urges the Buhari Presidency to confront the challenge of fulfilling the basic responsibility of governance by providing security to the lives and property of all Nigerians irrespective of their creed, tribe and political affiliations.

Finally, the PDP assures Nigerians that we will not be deterred in speaking out against the killings and the failure of the Buhari administration to take concrete steps to stem this ugly tide.

Revealed!!! How Imam hid over 200 Christians inside a mosque’ during Plateau attack

A Muslim cleric has told of how he hid over 200 people, including Christians, inside a mosque during the recent attack in the state, that claimed over 200 lives.

According to the Imam, whose identity was not given, he saw people fleeing Birkin Ladi local government area and could not help but his mosque, for them. The cleric told BBC Pidgin, he hid the women in his house, then took the men to the mosque.

“I first took the women to my personal house to hide them there, then I took the men to the mosque to hide, ”

A while later, some armed men reportedly approached the imam, asking him to produce the Christians their midst but he said he lied that they were all Muslims, begging the armed men to leave laying on the floor.

Blood moon 'to bring end of the world' as stargazers enjoy longest lunar eclipse this century

A spectacular blood moon is set to light up the sky next month - and it will be the end of the world as we know it, according to doomsday preachers.

End-of-days religious leaders who have incorrectly predicted the apocalypse time and time again are back at it ahead of a lunar eclipse on July 27.

The 21st century's longest lunar eclipse will last almost two hours and feature a blood moon where the moon has a red tinge.

While stargazers enjoy the dazzling phenomenon, doomsdayers will be preparing for armageddon.

The hypothesis was originally made famous by Christian ministers John Hagee and Mark Biltz who said the ongoing "tetrad" - four consecutive lunar eclipses which began in April 2014 with six full moons in between - is the indicator of the end of earth as described in the Bible in Acts 2:20 and Revelation 6:12.

However the tetrad ended in September 2018 and we're all still here.

The end-of-days preachers insist some sort of tragic event is set to hit earth and possibly wipe it out.

 But it has been routinely dismissed by astronomers and other experts as a myth.

Scientists say the red tinge is due to Rayleigh scattering of sunlight through the Earth's atmosphere.

It also causes the reddening of the sun at sunset.

“We Have Not Released Guidelines For 2019 Elections” – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that its guidelines for 2019 presidential primary election was not yet ready.

The party disclosed this in a statement issued by its National Organising Secretary, Austin Akobundu, on Sunday in Abuja.

Mr Akobundu said that the clarification became necessary following a publication by a national daily titled “PDP list guidelines for presidential aspirants, demands N12m for forms.

“We wish to state categorically that the party is still in the process of drawing up the guidelines for its presidential primary election.

“It is therefore misleading to claim that the party has ‘listed its guidelines’ not to talk of the cost of nomination forms.

“At the appropriate time the proposals will be presented to NEC of the party which will approve as it deems fit.

“Only then can one say that it has the guidelines for the 2018 presidential primary election.”

Mr Akobundu said that the party’s National Working Committee under the leadership of Prince Uche Secondus, was committed to adhering strictly to the PDP constitution.

He noted that the constitution in Chapter 8 (50) (1) grants NEC the power to formulate the guidelines for aspirants in any of its Party Primaries, the presidential primary inclusive.

Mr Akobundu appreciated the interest in the party’s electoral processes and said PDP was always ready to respond to any enquiries and to make all necessary information available.

The national organising secretary urged the general public, party members and they PDP presidential aspirants to disregard the said publication.

“The authentic guidelines for PDP presidential primary election will be released as soon as they are considered by the organs of the party.”
